So there I was, bouncing around in an Ontario classroom, talking about my novel Ultra, and sharing some of my craziest running stories. A brilliant documentary filmmaker happened to be there, and she made this little video about me:
Many thanks to Lisa Lightbourn-Lay for making that video. The still images were provided by my photog brother Andy.

Your video was fun to watch, David. I still think you are nuts, though!
This is so sweet! It’s clear that you are so passionate about both running and writing and you bring this across so beautifully to the kids. Hopefully you’ll inspire a bunch of them to take up our wonderful sport. 🙂 On a more momentous note though – what do you mean that trail demons aren’t real?!?!
Aww thanks for your kind words! As for the trail demons…they’re those nasty negativities that race through our brains and tell us we aren’t strong enough, or fit enough, or smart enought, or brave enough to achieve our dreams… They’re horrendous little liars, and, after 20 hours of running, it’s all too tempting to believe them! 😉
